CORONA is not a laughing matter – The lighter side – 9

CORONA is not a laughing matter – The lighter side – 9

Today is the 20th day of the national lockdown to fight the Corona Virus. It is matter of gratification that we could prevent the much feared stage 3 of the virus in India so far. The position has been reviewed at the state level and also at the pan India level in PM Narendra Modi’s meeting with the state CMs. PM Modi will communicate the review and further decision and plan to meet the emerging situation tomorrow, April 14, an important day otherwise also being the birth anniversary of the greatest son of India, Babasaheb Ambedkar. We are a big country with big problems. If we are able to preserve and maintain the constitutional discipline,
ward off the dangers of communalism, cater to the needs of the under-dogs of the society, as visualized by Babasaheb Amedkar whose Jayanti we would observe tomorrow, it would not only provide us the wherewithal to manage and come out of the crisis but also be able to sustain our fight to set right the distortions and hurdles set in by the pandemic in the years to come. When I read the figure of more than 8.5 lakh estimated positive cases, had the lockdown not imposed by our leadership three weeks before, I feel a shiver in my spine. We are to remain on our toes and support our Governments in these days of crisis – if winter comes; can spring be far behind?

Let us sit and face the situation in a happy mood. We have our instant talent around to provide enough material to feel good. The housewives or the husbands sitting at home are increasingly becoming an easy target of humour. Referring to the nagging wife, the husband said while talking to his father-in.law:

The lockdown has created situations both good and bad:

The lovers have a different take and perspective onthe home confinement. One of my Facebook friends - Pooja Sahni sent me a pleasant admission of a lover:

The poets are also busy in penning poetry to satisfy their inner urges and providing ‘Food for Thought’ to lesser mortals like me.
I share here a latest Kavita of one of my diplomatic colleagues Amar Jeet Anjan, a poet of his own standing with a couple of books to his credit (famous for his Stanzas – Char Linan):

With Greetings on Vaisakhi.
