CORONA is not a
laughing matter – The lighter side – 23
We are in the 44rd day of the lockdown. Things
seem to be under control, prima facie, and a gradual exit process from the
lockdown has already started with precautions and natural worry. The death toll
of the virus has reached about 1600 plus with almost 50000 positive cases. The
redeeming feature is that the recovery rate which is successively increasing
currently stands at about 28%.
The exit process has its own difficulties. The migrant
workers are keen to go home. The authorities are ill-equipped to handle the
situation owing to cost factors and other requirements such as medical
check-up, social distance, compulsory confinement etc. The alcohol issue has
further worsened the situation particularly with regard to the social distance
norms at the Thekas – Wine
Shops. While the public needs to be educated, rather
than shouting them down from the roof tops by the so-called Anchors in the TV
studios and self appointed social and spiritual leaders, and necessary
arrangements made for smooth sale of liquor. There is no point in quoting the
scriptures. It is a matter of great
concern that the frontline warriors, particularly the police and para-security
forces, were increasingly becoming the hits of the virus. The authorities
should be mindful of this.
The security situation in the sensitive areas like J&K is
also a source of concern. It is a matter of great worry that our security
forces remained at the receiving end, in recent days, in fighting with the terrorists
and anti-national elements and lost too many lives of our valiant soldiers and
highly placed commanders. The dreaded terrorist of Hizbul Mujahideen, Riyaz
Naikoo was neutralized in the operations; it is a big success of the security
forces. But we need to find a lasting solution. It is already too late. There
would be no dearth of Riyaz Naikoos as long as our hostile neighborhood is
there to fish in the troubled waters.
The lighter side of the virus ridden ground realities has
been over taken by the “Saroor” of ‘Som Ras” in the run up to the opening of
the Thekas. Let us have a foretaste of the Som Ras:
शराब की दुकानें इसलिए खुलवायी जा रहीं हैं
क्योंकि आरबीआई गवर्नर ने कहा है
दो से तीन क्वार्टर में
अर्थव्यवस्था पटरी पर आ जायेगी

Shop खोलने से पहले सरकार की अपील-
"कृप्या पीने के बाद गाड़ी सीधे अपने घर ले जायें।
कोई भी चीन की तरफ नहीं जायेगा। “
Caution
for the couples at home in confinement:
दो बात दिमाग मे रख लीजिये।
कोरोना से लड़ना है,घबराना नही है।
बीबी से घबराना है, लड़ना नही है।
कृपया गड्बड् ना करें वरना.................... दोनो मे से किसी की भी अभी वैक्सीन नहीं बनी है।
With the lines of a famous song of Gurdass Mann
ਕੀ ਬਣੂ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਸੱਚੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜਾਣੇ let us pray for peace and harmony on the day of Budha
Purnima and invoke the blessings of Lord Buddha:
