CORONA is not a laughing matter – The lighter side – 13

CORONA is not a laughing matter – The lighter side – 13

In Bingo or Tambola, number 13 is generally called either lucky for all or lucky for some as the Bingo Master feels. This is the 13th blog of mine on the theme – The Lighter Side of the Corona Virus. Let us pray that the coming days turn out be lucky for all.

Today the figures are about to touch 15,000 of positive cases and 500 deaths as we approach the second phase of the lockdown on April 20. I am based in Jalandhar in Punjab. The situation with emerging additional positive cases is worrisome. Sadly, a gallant frontline warrior, Assistant Commissioner of Police Anil Kohli has succumbed to the deadly virus today in Ludhiana. The administration is doing fine, it seems, but the public needs to be a bit more concerned and cooperative. The dirty panel discussions on
some TV channels to blame one community or the other for the spread of the virus continued unabated, unfortunately. Let us saner senses prevail. They have already inflicted much damage to the social fabric of the society. But at the same time, light at the end of the dark tunnel has also started appearing. There are reports that the scientists and pharmaceutical companies are hopeful of developing a much needed vaccine of the deadly virus sooner than later. I wish them all the best.

Coming to the lighter side of the piece, one of my Facebook friends, Anjli Tickoo Chopra has written:

A renowned Motivative Consultant, Jagat Shah circulated on WhatsApp to caution on the unnecessary movement:

Some of us, mostly Punjabiis, believe in “Gadi Marna”. They cannot sit at home. Pooja Kashmiro explained this cumpulsion:

Is it enough for today? I conclude with a prayer sent by my friend Dr. Varinder Garg, OSD to Minister of Health, Dr. Harshvardhan
